Prince Harry, Prince William to attend Princess Diana memorial together despite tensions: report - Fox News

Prince Harry and Prince William plan to stand "shoulder to shoulder" at a memorial they commissioned for their mom, Princess Diana, this summer — despite tension between the brothers sparked by the royal race scandal, it was revealed Friday.

"I can exclusively reveal that William is still committed, as is Harry, to get together on July 1 for the unveiling of the Princess Diana statue at Kensington Gardens," Russell Myers, an expert on the British royal family, said on the UK morning show "Loraine" Friday.

"This could be a monumental period for the brothers," Myers said, adding the siblings have hardly spoken in months, according to the Sun.

The revelation came a day after Prince William contradicted claims made by Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, that Markle suffered racism behind palace walls.

Asked about the claim — which included that a member of the royal family had concerns about how "dark" the couple’s baby would be — William fired back Wednesday that "we are very much not a racist family."

In a bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey Sunday, Prince Harry said he faced racist comments after he started dating Markle and that his dad, Prince Charles, stopped taking his calls. He also made it clear that he and Prince William are on "different paths."

But despite the royal family spat, Prince Harry has vowed to return to the UK from California this summer for the planned unveiling of a memorial statue that he helped commission for his mother.

The statue was commissioned by the Duke of Cambridge and the Duke of Sussex in honor of the 20th anniversary of Princess Diana’s death.

The statue was commissioned by Prince Harry and Prince William in 2017 in honor of the 20th anniversary of Princess Diana’s death. It will be unveiled on what would have been her 60th birthday.
